Just up the hill from the C&O Canal Towpath and the Appalachian Trail, HI-Harpers Ferry is located in Knoxville, MD - a short two miles from the Harpers Ferry National Historic Park. HI-Harpers Ferry
overlooks the Potomac River in an historic lodge complete with a stone fireplace and surrounded by serene nature settings. This 36 bed hostel and campground is the perfect location for your getaway to a home away from home. Whether you are stopping off for a break along the trail, taking a rest from your bicycling adventures, taking the family for a weekend getaway, or diverging from the east coast city hostel tour - HI-Harpers Ferry has everything you could ask for.

Our front desk is open for check ins from 5:30pm to 11:00pm with a night time curfew of 11:00pm. Quiet hours in the hostel are from 11pm to 8am, though you may utilize our common area as late as you like so long as you respect the quiet hours of other guests sleeping. Our front desk opens for check outs from 7am to 10am, with extended hours on the weekends. There is a day time lock out between 10am and 5:30pm, no lock out on Fridays and Saturdays starting July 3rd 2009.
We have a full guest use kitchen, large common and dining area with a stone fireplace and plenty of free books for reading, and an outdoor deck and front porch for relaxing outside. We also offer space for camping and have a fire pit that campers and hostellers can use. For campers we have a port a potty and potable water available on teh outside of the building. We also have grills for cooking outdoors and lots of games such as Frisbee and volleyball.
