Hiking, Biking, Camping, Tubing, and Exploring our Nations History are just a few of  the exciting times awaiting you at HI-Harpers Ferry.  Overlooking the Potomac River, HI-Harpers Ferry is located in Knoxville, MD - a short two miles from the Harpers Ferry National Historic Park.  The hostel is located at Mile Post 59 on the  C&O Canal Towpath and the Appalachian Trail.  

This 36 bed hostel and campground is the perfect location for your getaway to a home away from home. The hostel offers a full guest use kitchen with a free daily pancake breakfast.  There is a large dining area and common room complete with lots of free books, a free guest use computer with Internet, and a large stone fireplace for use in the cooler Fall months.  Free WiFi is offered throughout the building.  We also have plenty of games to keep you occupied on rainy days. 

In addition to the hostel we offer tent camping on the beautiful grounds that surround the building.  Tent camping includes access to a fire pit, grills, port o potty, and potable water.  Showers are available for $5 per person and laundry is coin operated.  When camping you do not have access to any inside facilities other than the time limited shower usage.  

The hostel is the perfect location for group outings.  We can sleep up to 36 people and with a huge common area, dining room, and kitchen you will have plenty of space for all of your group needs.  Reserve the entire facility and ensure your groups privacy and full use of the hostel.  Take advantage of our special off season rate of $250.00 for the entire hostel for stays until April14th of 2010.  Call the hostel at 301-834-7652 for more details.

2010 Season Information:

• The hostel will be open from April 15th to October 15th. 
• Hostel Hours:
• April 15th - May 27th: 7am to 10am, 5pm to 10pm
  The front desk will be open during these hours.  Check out is 10am, Check in is 5pm.  There is a day time lock out from 10am to 5pm.  There is a nighttime curfew (front door is locked) of 11pm. 
• May 28th - September 7th: 7am to 10pm
  The front desk will be open during these hours.  Check out is 11am, Check in is 3pm.  There is no day time lock out or curfew.  You will have 24 hour access to the building. 
• September 8th - October 15th: 7am to 10am, 5pm to 10pm
  The front desk will be open during these hours.  Check out is 10am, Check in is 5pm.  There is a day time lock out from 10am to 5pm.  There is a nighttime curfew (front door is locked) of 11pm. 
• Hostel Pricing
  In adherence to state law we must charge sales and lodging tax (12%) on all hostel overnights.  In addition Hostelling International is a non profit membership organization.  You must purchase a $3 per day membership if you are not already a member of Hostelling International.  Yearly memberships are available for purchase at any HI hostel or by going to www.hiusa.org.   
• Dorm Beds: $18 and up
• Private Rooms: $40 and up (up to 2 people)
• Family Rooms: $40 and up, $5 each additional child (up to 6 people)
  Pricing is for one or two adult parents or guardians accompanied by children 17 and under. 
• Entire Hostel Facilities: $450.00 and up (up to 36 people)
  Exclusive use of all hostel facilities.  Special events can be arranged by staff including movie showings on our projector or group meals.  There may be a fee for some events.  Camping will still take place in the yard and campers will still have access to our front bathroom facilities.  The front bathroom facilities are separate from all dorm and common areas, so your group will not be bothered by others. 
• Group Rate: $16 and up (must be 10 or more people)
• Boy Scout/Girl Scout: $15 and up
• Hiker Package: $22 and up
  Includes a bed, sheets, towel, laundry, package handling, pancake breakfast, shower, dinner,  ice cream, and HI membership fee.  
• Camping Pricing
  Camping is per person and limited to space available.  Reservations are recommended.  Camping facilities include a fire pit, grills for cooking, port o potty, potable water, and access to our outdoor pavilion.  Time limited use of inside showers is available for $5 per person.  You do not have access to inside facilities when camping.  Occasionally free hostel events such as smores around the camp fire and outdoor movie showings will take place that campers are allowed to participate in.
